Introduces AI literacy as part of the Complete Engineer experience. Students gain hands-on experience with enterprise AI tools and explore practical applications of AI in academic success, professionalism, ethics, and civic responsibility. Activities include using AI to support weekly planning, discussing responsible use of AI in engineering, and applying AI-supported data analysis to real-world problems.

Problem Solving with AI
Introduces students to AI as a tool for engineering problem solving. The course focuses on using AI to support problem formulation, exploration, analysis, and solution development while emphasizing critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs and responsible human oversight.
ENGR 491
Applied AI
Provides students with hands-on experience applying AI to real-world challenges in collaboration with industry partners. Student teams work on authentic projects involving predictive modeling, data analysis, workflow automation, computer vision/OCR, and AI-supported research.
CIVE 891
Fundamentals of AI/ML in Civil and Environmental Engineering
Covers the fundamentals of popular artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, with emphasis on their development, application, and evaluation within civil and environmental engineering problems. The course provides students with the foundation needed to understand and apply AI/ML methods to engineering challenges.
